Here it is...May 2012.  Time do fly...
I have been very prolific since I posted last.  There was another dry spell there for a while, but I found some inspiration in new papers and magazines. And, I recently attended a class with Diana Kovacs that was really fun and easy.  Diana showed us how to create a a faux-patina affect to use on card elements. We used Ranger Distress ink pads, a Cuttlebug machine with embossing folders, and some sparkle.  We started with ATC size pieces of card stock.  From there we could enhance the design for a card.   Here are a few of the cards that I created from the small ATC cards:

Julia's Birthday

Julia's Bat Mitzvah Card

 My grand-niece Julia became a Bat Mitzvah last weekend.  She loves the color red, so I made her a red card.  Julia is an amazing young woman with talent, beauty and brains.  I am very proud of her.


So, for now, I've showed you the good stuff.

Starting off April with some cards

The end of March brought a rush of birthdays, so I was busy. I had to figure out ways to make some cards quickly, but still show some creativity.

Here area a couple of cards using fun sparkly paper:

Too bad you can't see the sparkly edges on each picture above.


I found these two pictures among my digital collection and printed them for these cards:

I have always loved peel-offs.  This card has lots of glitter and colors in the butterfly are metallic and shiny.  Too bad the scanner can't pic up on the glimmer of this card.

Back in the groove...

I had a dry spell, but I think I'm back in my groove. Here are a few new cards:

This card was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder with ribbons and a cupcake embellishment and a few pieces of bling.

 This next card is made in a similar design using similar materials:

 I have always been collage challenged but thought I would try it again:

I designed this card after a card I made in Diana Kovacs last card class.  The flower embellishment is hand made and a variety of what I made in that class.

This is just a fun card I made.  I'm trying to let loose of my stiffness in patterns and colors.

This next card is so much nicer than its scanned picture.  There I made a lot of  the accents with Viva Pearl Pens and Ranger Perfect Pearls.

 This card was fun to color and embellish, but the scan didn't do a good job to show it off.

And this card is for my sis-law's birthday next week.  I used my Copics on this one and my pearl pens and such to add some bling. 

Again, I will say that I really don't have a style that defines me. I just never know what is going to tickle my creative brain to make a cards.  Just wish I had more time to work on them.

Life goes on...

On January 9, 2012, my beloved BoyCat passed on to kitty heaven.  After multiple illnesses, senility, and kidney failure, the time had come to ease him of his misery.  Our Veterinarian came to our house and assisted in putting him at peace.  BoyCat was buried in our back yard wrapped in a towel and warm cuddly purr pads within a beautiful wooden box. Ron and I wept.  The Boy is now at peace.  He lived a good life of 19 1/2 human years.  I miss him every day.
  
Our GirlCat misses her brother, but we have been giving her lots of extra attention.  She is the same age as the Boy but she is a bit heartier than he was.  She has some medical problems, but she is doing quite well.  She's the grand old lady of our household: The Queen!
So, for now we have one furry friend who will hopefully be with us for a little while longer.

How about some cards?

 I'm trying to develop my own style, which I think is eclectic and funky! LOL  I just never know what is going to be produced until I go through my papers, stamps, die, etc...  I just wish I had more time to work on them.


I'm still working on my Copic classes.  I'm slow, but I'm learning.  I am not a totally natural artist and don't have any formal training, so for me, I go slowly.  But, I still enjoy it and know that I can't compare myself to those very talented card artists out there.  I can only just make my cards and enjoy the process and share the results with friends and family.
   So, for now...I think it's time to design a card.

As long as I have the time tonite, I'll post a few cards that I made recently.
Here are some birthday cards.  

This red badge card I made for my Max's 1ast birthday.
 

I only made a few Christmas type cards.

 And, I made only a few Chanukah cards.

 I used a variety of either stamps, peel offs, or pictures I found on the web to design these cards.  


I haven't had time to use my Copic markers much with my holiday cards. I had so little time that I just made them as simply as possible.  


So for now, that's all I have to post.
